ABOUT
Established in 1967, Universal Anodisers is a privately owned, Australian family business.
We pride ourselves on being one of the most experienced anodising organisations in Australia, specialising in anodising aluminium sheet and extrusions for architectural applications.
Over the years, our anodising methods have evolved with worldwide and in-house innovations. Continual research and development keeps us abreast of the latest in technological improvements, contemporary colour creations and anodising advancements.
Globally recognised for being one of the few anodisers to achieve ’Interference Colours’ successfully, Universal Anodisers has become a market leader for this specialised colour anodising, using German technology.
Universal Anodisers works closely with architects, manufacturers, fabricators and artisans to provide the lustrous and long-lasting finished product that has forged a reputation of distinction amongst its contemporaries.
HISTORY
In the early 1960’s, whilst studying Chemistry at university, Peter Morrison began anodising spectacles and linked chains in 44 gallon drums in the stables at the family home in Randwick.
Peter established Universal Anodisers in 1967 as the demand for light-weight, aesthetically exciting finishes exploded in the 1960s. Peter opened a factory in Lansvale to begin accommodating larger applications; street lights were still hand-dipped in those early days.
Industrial and architectural anodising took precedence. The Lansvale site was quickly outgrown, and in 1972, Universal Anodisers moved to Victoria St, Smithfield, where we stayed for near 30 years. During this time Peter’s children Greg, Susan and son-in-law Tony joined the team.
In the year 2000, a purpose built plant was constructed on 3 acres in Sydney’s largest industrial hub, Wetherill Park, providing Universal Anodisers with the ability to clear anodise up to 10 metre lengths.
In 2013 after 46 years, Peter retired. His grandchildren, the third generation, joined the company to continue the traditions of ‘exceptional quality and service’ alongside Tony, Sue and Greg.
In 2017, Universal Anodisers celebrates its 50th year of anodising excellence!
Being 50 years in business is humbling. We are defined by the clients that have supported us over many decades of business and continue to work closely with us. We are honoured to have many long term, dedicated employees with experience and anodising expertise to provide our customers with a high-quality end product.
Universal Anodisers is committed to thriving together with other Australian Manufacturers who move forward in competing times. A business cannot escape its fair share of challenges; however solving these challenges inspires continual growth. Our history and future is bound by integrity to create a culture in anodising, one the finest surface finishes in the world.
